Operatives of the Lagos State Central Business Districts enforcement unit has uncovered and dislodged another criminal hide out under the bridge located at the back of Onikan stadium descending to Army flag House close to the Governors house in Marina, Lagos.
Making this known, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Central Business Districts, Olarenwaju Elegushi said the hideout similar to previous criminal and ritualists hideouts discovered in various parts of the state some months ago by security operatives was uncovered while carrying out Governors directives to clear the area of debris and refuses which had accumulated under the bridge.
Elegushi said they received the governors directives to clear the area of refuses and debris which had accumulated overtime and in the course of carrying out the directives, they uncovered the place which had been under surveillance for long.
“A lot of criminal activities like rape, robbery and harbouring of criminals takes place here at night. We receives daily report of criminal activities about the area from passersby and victims and therefore we mobilised to dislodged the area and put a stop to further illegalities perpetrated in the area henceforth,” he added.
He said the Office would leave no stone unturn to dislodge criminals hideout on the island and make the Lagos Island business district safe for business transactions and leisures.
The Special Adviser said no arrest was made but different items like charms and dangerous weapons were discovered and cleared from the place, saying the police authority and armed force settlement close to the area has been notified of the discovery for necessary action.
