Wife of Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has paid an advocacy visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu and his Management Team at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.

She said in her brief remarks, that the purpose of the visit was to solicit the support and collaboration of the police in her campaign against sexual and gender-based violence in the state.

According to her, it became imperative to visit the Command considering the invaluable place of the police as critical stakeholders in the ongoing campaign.

In his reaction, Odumosu, on behalf of his Management Team, officers and men of the Command, expressed appreciation to the Governor’s wife for the visit.

He lauded the good initiative, while assuring her of the Command’s unflinching support to enable her succeed in the fight against all forms of domestic violence and sexual abuse in the state.

Speaking further, the police boss also thanked her for ‘considering the Command as partner in progress’ in the current campaign against SGBV in the state.

Odumosu particularly sought the assistance of the Governor’s wife in the area of capacity-building training for police officers so as to foster better understanding and appreciation of the ongoing campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Lagos State.
