Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage has told fellow singer Teniola Apata, aka Teni, to “pick a date” after Teni called her out for a boxing bout.
Teni issued the challenge in a video posted on her official Instagram account @tenientertainer.
In the post, Teni tagged Tiwa Savage and wrote: “MAMA!!! make we fight @tiwasavage 3billion later I go apologise for outside the boxing ring.”
The “Somebody’s Son” crooner responded in the comment section with three words: “Pick a date.”
Teni made the challenge while discussing the earnings of Nigerian entertainers and the expensive cars owned by some artistes.
She proposed a ₦1.5 billion purse for the bout and joked about fighting Savage before singing “My Darling” for her afterwards.
The exchange comes days after reality TV star Phyna knocked out actress Nkechi Blessing in a celebrity boxing bout in Lagos.
The bout, held on Oct. 1, was part of Balmoral Group Promotions’ “Chaos in the Ring” series.
Phyna won the scheduled four-round contest by knockout, while skit maker Carter Efe defeated rapper Speed Darlington in another celebrity bout at the event.
The series has previously featured entertainers such as Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington, and Carter Efe in celebrity boxing bouts.
Carter Efe had earlier defeated singer Portable by unanimous decision in a three-round bout at the same venue in May.
No promoter, formal agreement or date for a proposed Teni-Savage bout has been announced.
Teni is known for songs including “Fargin” and “Askamaya”, while Savage has recorded hits including “Somebody’s Son”
