The All-Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council is targeting the mobilisation of 50 million Nigerians as its women’s directorate begins preparations for the 2027 re-election campaign of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The mobilisation will be led by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is expected to rally women leaders and grassroots organisations at a national stakeholders’ summit in Abuja on Monday.
The Women Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council will host a Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Campaign Roll-Out at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
The event, scheduled for 8 a.m., is expected to attract more than 20,000 women stakeholders from across the country.
With the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity,” the mobilisation is being driven by the message: “One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”
The gathering is expected to bring together women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, grassroots organisers and political stakeholders to discuss the Tinubu administration’s policies, women’s empowerment and strategies for securing support ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking ahead of the event, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Planning Committee, Princess Gloria Akobundu, said the campaign would highlight government programmes which she said had benefited millions of Nigerians.
Akobundu cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), infrastructure projects, social protection initiatives, consumer credit, digital skills development and youth empowerment programmes as key areas of the administration’s intervention.
She said NELFUND had registered more than 1.4 million students and received over 1.69 million loan applications, with more than ₦191 billion disbursed through over 320 institutional partners.
She also highlighted the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), which provides access to credit for personal needs, education, home improvement and renewable energy.
On infrastructure, Akobundu said the Federal Government had constructed more than 2,700 kilometres of highways, while major road and rail projects were continuing across the country.
She said the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, introduced after the removal of the petrol subsidy, was also helping vulnerable households cope with the impact of the economic reforms.
“Women must understand what this administration is doing and take the message of Renewed Hope to every community, ward and polling unit,” Akobundu said.
She urged women in Imo State and across the South-East to strengthen their grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Akobundu also cited programmes under NG-CARES, SOLID and HOPE as part of government efforts to support vulnerable households, communities and human-capital development.
The Abuja mobilisation is expected to mark a major step in the APC women’s campaign structure as the party prepares to take its 2027 message to the grassroots.
