Ahead of the Anambra governorship election slated for November six, Nigeria Police is engaging traditional leaders and other stakeholders.

Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba stated this during a ministerial briefing in Abuja, where he maintained that the police have deepened assurance through community engagements.

According to him, the police have deployed 34,587 personnel, overt and covert, to the state.

He added that over 20,000 active criminal cases filed by the police are still languishing in the court without proper justice meted out.

The police chief further noted that the issue of kidnapping for ransom and criminality will continue unless the process for conviction, and the dispensation of justice within the system is improved upon.
