First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, says the Federal Government’s economic reforms are beginning to stabilise the economy, reduce inflation and attract investment.
Tinubu insisted that President Bola Tinubu can be trusted to lead Nigeria into prosperity.
She spoke on Monday at the APC Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit in Abuja.
The summit was organised as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election and brought together APC women leaders and grassroots mobilisers from across the country.
The First Lady said the Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0, themed “From Reforms to Prosperity”, was no longer a slogan but was reflected in developments across the economy.
She said: “Our economy is stabilising. Inflation is coming down. Our foreign reserves are growing. Investors are returning to Nigeria. Our farmers are getting more support.
She also cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, saying students in universities were now able to access loans through the scheme.
Urging the women to take the message to their communities, Senator Tinubu said President Tinubu was a leader bold enough to take difficult decisions and capable of leading the country into prosperity.
“Tell everyone as you go back to your various states that you have a leader who is bold enough to take difficult decisions in the beginning. He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity,” she said.
She said independent women support groups, including Torch Bearers, had been integrated into the APC structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
“What you will see on the ballot box is APC. We’re here to promote APC, nothing less. From Presidency, governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly, that is what we are here for,” she said.
Senator Tinubu also announced plans for six zonal mega rallies culminating in a grand finale in Abuja, while urging the women to speak with one voice and support the APC at the polls.
The summit also featured the distribution of livelihood items, including tricycles, sewing machines, refrigerators and agricultural implements to women beneficiaries.
A member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Wing, Gloria Akobundu, urged the beneficiaries to put the items to productive use to improve their livelihoods and household incomes.
She also called on women voters, particularly those in the South-East and other geopolitical zones, to support the President’s re-election bid.
Akobundu described the gathering as part of the APC’s strategy to strengthen women’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
