As part of the efforts of the Federal Government to put an end to the incessant killings by suspected herdsmen in Benue state, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, is set to visit some of the troubled villages including Tunga, Guma and Logo.

According to Idris, the visit is based on the allegations by Governor Samuel Ortom that militiamen attacking farmers in the state are camped in Tunga village of Awe local government area of Nasarawa state.

He says the visit will enable him to get firsthand information about the allegations so as to address the issues headlong.

The Police boss says special police forces including special investigative team are in the state to ensure that peace and harmony is restored in those places.

“Now, I am moving down to Tunga, Guma and Logo in Benue and Nasarawa State. Our activities are to ensure that I see things on the ground myself,” he said.
