The present administration in Lagos State has restated its commitment to protection of lives of Lagosians as it handed over two thousand hand sanitizers and hand gloves to the Lagos Rapid Response Squad.

According to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the presentation of the hand sanitizers and hand gloves was to protect officers of the Squad, who themselves have been helping to protect lives.

Ambode said being the first responders to emergencies, it was important to ensure the squad were also protected as it strive to protect the lives of others.

He spoke through Permanent Secretary, Office of Chief of Staff, Oluseyi Whenu, saying over four hundred RRS officers had been trained and retrained in giving First Aid assistance during emergencies as well as cardio pulmonary respiration.

Receiving the hand gloves and hand sanitizers, Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, commended the Governor for enhancing the job of the officers.

Imohimi who spoke through Commander, Rapid Response Squad, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, said
the officers had been putting the training into use by administering first aid on accident victims and had gotting commendations.

He added that the provision of hand sanitizers and hand gloves would further enhance their performance as well as protect them from communicable diseases as they try to protect other people’s lives.

Others at the presentation were Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Health, Dr. Sola Pitan, and Medical Director, Governor’s Office Clinic, Dr. Olanrewaju Adeboye among others.
