Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger has deployed no fewer than 100 personnel on foot patrol in Minna metropolis, to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

The arrangement became necessary, as the case involving the immediate past governor of the state, Babangida Aliyu, resumed at the Minna High Court.

Commandant, Philip Ayuba, who gave the figure, said the deployment of security personnel was to ensure peaceful coexistence among residents.

Ayuba said various forms of security checks were in place, to deal with any unforeseen circumstances in and outside the metropolis.

He called on residents to continue with their legitimate activities, urging them to report any person or group of people trying to foment trouble in the metropolis.

Ayuba said the NSCDC was placed on high alert to confront any form of security threat in the state.
