The Nigeria Police Force, through its National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC), announces the 2026 Cybersecurity Awareness Week, themed “Towards a Resilient Cyberspace.”

The programme seeks to promote cybersecurity awareness, encourage responsible online behaviour and strengthen collective efforts to protect Nigeria’s digital space.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, cordially invites stakeholders and the public to participate in activities designed to deepen understanding of cyber threats and practical measures for staying safe online.

A seminar and panel discussion will take place on Thursday, 15th October 2026, at the Police Resource Center, Jabi, Abuja, commencing at 10:00 a.m. prompt.

The sessions will provide a platform for knowledge sharing and dialogue on cybersecurity, prevention of cybercrime and building resilience against evolving digital threats.

A Cybersecurity Awareness Walk will also take place on Saturday, 17th October 2026, starting from the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, at 6:30 a.m. prompt.

The walk will take the message of online safety beyond the conference setting and encourage greater public participation in protecting our shared digital environment.

The Nigeria Police Force invites government institutions, private sector organisations, educational institutions, civil society groups, the media and members of the public to support and participate in the programme.

The public are encouraged to adopt basic online safety practices, including using strong and unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, protecting personal information and verifying links and requests before responding. Passwords, PINs and one-time passwords should never be shared.

The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to preventing and combating cybercrime through public sensitisation, stakeholder collaboration and law enforcement.

A resilient cyberspace requires everyone to stay informed, remain vigilant and act responsibly.
