Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM has emerged as the Best Radio Station at the seventh edition of the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards, recognising the station’s performance in Nigeria’s broadcasting industry.
The award was presented at the 2026 edition of the ceremony, recognising the station’s role in providing traffic information and accurate travel advisory to residents of Lagos State.
The station’s emergence as Best Radio Station also highlights the place of radio in informing the public, supporting road safety awareness and keeping residents abreast of developments affecting daily movement across the state.
The station’s programme “Women on Wheels” also clinched the award of the Best Community Access Programme on Radio.
The Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards was established in 2010 to recognise excellence in radio and television broadcasting.
After an 11-year break, the awards returned with an expanded focus to include traditional broadcasters, podcasters, digital content creators and media entrepreneurs.
