The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Olubode Ojajuni has regularly conducts community outreach and security sensitisation engagements with traditional rulers, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, executives, and local leaders across the state.

During the turn of the Owode-Egba in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, CP Ojajuni addressed Royal Fathers, PCRC Leaders, Community Development Committee Executives, Community Development Association Executives, Religious Leaders, Proprietors of Schools, Estate Executives and Associations, Civil Society Organisations, Sister Security Agencies, Market Associations, Trade Associations, Transport Unions, Hunters Association, Factions of OPC, Artisan Associations, Youth Groups.

Ojajuni met the groups during his official Familiarisation Tour to the Owode Egba Area Command and Stakeholders’ Security Meeting with community leaders, security partners, and other critical stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening the security of lives and property within the Area Command.

The town hall meetings focus on key community policing strategies:
Intelligence Gathering: Encouraging locals to provide credible intelligence about suspicious movements and criminal hideouts to the police.

The visit forms part of the Command’s broader strategy of deepening collaboration with critical stakeholders at the grassroots while reinforcing public confidence in law enforcement.

The initiative highlights the Command’s commitment to inclusive policing, stronger institutional partnerships and a proactive security architecture capable of responding effectively to emerging challenges across Ogun State.

Despite heavy rainfall, stakeholders turned out in large numbers, reflecting the growing collaboration between residents and security agencies.

CP Ojajuni in his address warned perpetrators of localised crimes such as cultism and illegal land disputes.

He called for Inter-Agency collaboration, Strengthening ties with local vigilantes, Amotekun, Nigeria Legion, Vigilante Group and So-Safe Corps to secure the Lagos-Ibadan expressway axis and surrounding corridors.

CP Ojajuni said the Ogun State Command urge citizens to utilise their updated security channels for real-time reporting.

The Commissioner acknowledged the contributions of local hunters and community stakeholders to intelligence gathering while commending officers for their professionalism, particularly during the recent cross-border Lagos-Ogun security operation known as Operation Kosaye, which continues to strengthen surveillance along key transit routes.

The Commissioner highlighted the sustained impact of Operation Kosaye in curbing cross-border criminality while reaffirming the Command’s commitment to protecting lives, investments and critical infrastructure.

The Commissioner emphasised that sustained collaboration between communities, security institutions and local leadership remains the most reliable safeguard against organised crime and other emerging threats.

CP Ojajuni described the command as the state’s largest and a key industrial hub that remains secure despite high crime-risk mapping.

The CP addressed officers, traditional rulers, community leaders, and sister agencies, highlighting inter-agency synergy as critical to sustaining a crime-free axis and reaffirming that “Operation Kosaye” will deny cross-border criminals safe haven.

The Commissioner said the engagements reflect the Command’s commitment to a proactive, inclusive, and partnership-driven approach to public safety.

In his welcome remarks, the Area Commander, ACP Olayemi Jacob said the Command is tasked with maintaining law and order, investigating crimes, and coordinating community policing across its designated areas.

Jacob said the Command which strategically positioned along the busy Lagos–Ibadan expressway corridor, plays a critical role in monitoring a major industrial and transit gateway.

According to him, the Area Command oversees multiple Police Divisions in its surrounding districts, including the Owode-Egba Division, Mowe, Ibafo, and Ofada.

He said the command actively collaborates with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), traditional rulers, and local vigilante groups to improve security and de-escalate minor disputes before they escalate to major legal issues.
