Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army marked the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2026 with a Special Jummat Prayer at the 81 Division Central Mosque, Dodan Barracks, Obalende, Lagos.

Delivering the Chief of Army Staff’s goodwill message, GOC 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, said the session was to thank Allah, reflect on the Army’s achievements, honour fallen heroes, and renew commitment to national service.

Major General Babalola commended officers and soldiers for their sacrifices and professionalism in defending the nation.

He noted that the Army’s 163-year record as a symbol of patriotism and resilience.

Babalola described the NADCEL 2026 theme, _“Protecting the Nation and Serving the People: A Way Forward for the Nigerian Army,”_ as a call for reflection and rededication to core values.

He also restated the COAS’s focus on building a professional, combat-ready, and welfare-driven force under the “Soldier First” concept, while appreciating President Bola Tinubu, for supporting the Armed Forces.

The GOC spoke through Commander 81 Division Garrison, Brigadier General AI Getso.

The prayers, led by Acting Deputy Director, Islamic Affairs and Chief Imam, Lieutenant Colonel, Husein Eleje, sought Allah’s protection for Nigeria, its leaders, and troops in operational theatres.

The event drew formation commanders, staff and senior officers, soldiers, members of NAOWA and NASWA, and other Muslim faithful.
