The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has strengthened security operations in the state with the donation of helmets, security jackets, bulletproof vests and other operational gear to the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad.
The security items were presented under the leadership of the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Trust Fund, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, as part of ongoing efforts to support security agencies and improve safety across Lagos.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Rapid Response Squad, Commander of RRS, CSP Shola Jejeloye, expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the Security Trust Fund for their sustained commitment to strengthening security operations in the state.
Jejeloye noted that the donated items, including helmets, bulletproof vests and riot control gear, have continued to enhance the operational effectiveness of the squad in responding to emergencies and combating criminal activities.
According to him, the support from the Trust Fund has significantly boosted the morale and capacity of officers, enabling them to respond swiftly to different security challenges across Lagos.
“The equipment provided has greatly assisted us in tackling various forms of insecurity. With the level of support we receive, there is virtually no security challenge that the Rapid Response Squad cannot effectively manage,” he said.
The RRS commander further stated that the squad remains fully prepared and constantly alert to respond to unforeseen situations, stressing that the unit is made up of energetic and highly committed officers dedicated to safeguarding lives and property.
He also credited the continuous backing of the Lagos State Government and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for strengthening the security architecture of the state.
