The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another operational breakthrough, following the arrest of a suspected criminal and recovery of a locally made firearm during a routine patrol in the Mushin area of the state.
The suspect, identified as Dare Shogaolu, 30, popularly known as Super M, was apprehended on March 5, 2026, about 10:00 by operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team attached to the Mushin Division.
The team, led by the Divisional Police Officer, intercepted the suspect along the LUTH Road axis during a stop-and-search exercise.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the officers became suspicious after noticing the suspect carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag. A search conducted on the spot led to the recovery of a locally made pistol concealed inside the bag.
Additional items reportedly found in his possession include a black leather purse, some charms believed to be used for protection, and three pairs of slippers. Investigators say the discovery raised further suspicion about the suspect’s activities in the area.
Preliminary findings by the police indicate that the suspect may have been linked to several disturbances and criminal incidents within the Mushin community.
He is currently in police custody while detectives continue interrogation and intelligence gathering aimed at identifying and arresting other members of the suspected gang,” Abimbola stated.
