Operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command says it successfully apprehended six suspected armed robbers that specialise in dispossessing innocent citizens of their valuables.

The arrests followed a swift, intelligence-led operation initiated by the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

The suspects, identified as Shola, Pelumi , Gbenga, Zacchaeus’, Tunde, and Saheed, were tracked down following a series of public complaints.

Following directives from the AIG, the dedicated Dragon Team was deployed to investigate, track, and apprehend the perpetrators.

The critical breakthrough occurred on October 5, 2025, at about 2200hrs, when the team traced the suspects to their hideout in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun state, shortly after they had carried out a robbery operation. The raid led to the immediate arrest of all six suspects.

The operation yielded significant recoveries, including: 2 locally made pistols; 30 live cartridges; a wine-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number KNN 383 BU.
