Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have rescued a man from being lynched by mob.

Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a post shared on his X handle @benHundeyin on Friday.

Hundeyin said the timely intervention of police officers from Iju Division saved the man from being killed.

According to him, at 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, the suspect was caught while carting away barbed wire on a perimeter fence in Iju area of state.

He said the suspect injured one of the people trying to apprehend him with a scissors, and this prompted mob action on him.

Hundeyin said Patrol officers raced to the scene and rescued him, saying efforts are ongoing to apprehend those behind the barbaric act of jungle justice.

The spokesperson urged the public to desist from jungle justice.
