The Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke Fayoade has reiterated and assured residents of Lagos and Ogun States of security and safety during and beyond the Eid-Al-Adha celebrations.
Fayoade, extends Eid-Al-Adha to all Muslim faithful and urged the public to go about their celebrations without any fear of molestation, harassment or violence while he solicits effective collaboration from members of the public.
He charged the Commissioners of Police in-charge of Lagos and Ogun States, Commanders of; Police Mobile Force (PMF), Explosive Ordinance Disposals (EOD), Special Protection Units (SPU), Counter Terrorist Units (CTU), Anti-Kidnapping Units (AKU).
Fayoade asked the Anti-Cultism Units (ACU), Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Patrol and Guards (P&G), Monitoring Units, X-Squads, Divisional Police Officers, Traffic Officers, Tactical Units and officers and men serving in the command to beef up security around Worship Centers, Shopping Malls.
He urged them to beef security in Tourist Centers, Market Places, Commercial Centers, Social Gatherings, Residential Areas, High-Ways, Motor Parks and Garages, Relaxation Centers, Train Stations and Bus Terminals, Critical National Assets as well as Government and Private-owned Properties within their areas of jurisdictions and ensure free-flow of traffic during the Eid-Al-Adha celebration.
The AIG said the directive also emphasised the need for officers to ensure the free flow of traffic and maintain law and order during the holiday period.
