‎As Christians across Nigeria and the world prepare for the 2025 Easter Celebration, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has extended his warmest felicitations to the Christian community on the occasion.

Egbetokun acknowledges the significance of the celebration, which symbolises hope, renewal, and sacrifice; and encourages Christians to reflect on the values and continue to promote peace, unity, and goodwill in their communities.

He directs the Commissioners of Police across all State Commands, Formations, and their supervising Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, to enhance visibility policing, extended vigilance, and intelligence gathering to ensure a safe and secure festive celebration.

Egbetokun also emphasises the critical importance of enhanced patrol and strategic deployment of personnel to places of worship, recreation centres, major highways, and other public spaces to deter criminal activities and provide swift responses.

The IGP in a statement made available by the Force Public Relation Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, went further to call on the public to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information.

He said the citizens are therefore urged to remain security conscious, act with moderation, and avoid reckless driving on highways during the festive period and beyond.

The IGP reassured the public of the police commitment to ensuring a peaceful and crime-free Easter celebration for all, May the spirit of Easter bring peace, joy, and blessings to all.
