The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, ICSAN, is set to hold its 48th annual conference, Awards and Dinner, themed; Reassessing the Governance Dynamics in Nigeria’s Transition to Enduring Development and National Prosperity.

The ICSAN Conference will converge diverse group of stakeholders both public and private sectors to assess governance issues and proffer recommendations that will impact the citizens and businesses positively.
The Conference will be Chaired by the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of The Chair Centre Group, Mrs Ibukun Biodun Awosika, Keynote Speaker is Senior Partner, Kenna Partners; Fabian Ajogwu,SAN, Speakers and panellists expected include; Chairman, MTN Nigeria; Ernest Ndukwe, Group Executive Director, Rainoil Limited; Codrey Ogbechie, Senior Economist and Partner, Professionals; Paul Alaje, Partner Babalakin & Co who is adjunct professor, University of Ibadan; Adebayo Adaralegbe, and CEO, Aisec Nominees Limited, Oyindamola Ehiwere.
The Conference which has the ICSAN first female President and Council Chairman Mrs Funmilayo Ekundayo as Chief Host, Vice President Mrs Uto Ukpanah as Host will be holding at MTN Rooftop Event Hall in Ikoyi Lagos on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th September 2024.
ICSAN President and Council Chairman, Funmi Ekundayo, at a news briefing to herald the conference assessed the socio-economic environment, acknowledged that there are so many governance issues to be addressed.
Ekundayo said when the economic situation that is biting on everyone is to be looked into, then there can not be a better time to engage in discussion that will bring about positive and pragmatic recommendations to policy formulators, government across the board that will help them to find a way out of the challenges the nation has found itself.
She added that, at the end of the two day conferences, there will be a communiqué that will highlight key points and recommendations for the government across the board.
According to her, ICSAN believe that beyond protests we can help in our own way as an institute to drive conversations around good governance and we believe that the recommendations will get to the right quarters.
ICSAN Vice President, Uto Ukpanah underlined governance as critical to any meaningful and sustainable economic development and prosperity.
According to Ukpanah, who is also the chairman of the conference committee, ICSAN is therefore bringing governance professionals and other stakeholders to have conversations on how to make pragmatic recommendations to economic issues.
In her words, ICSAN as an Institute is always looking at ways to support governance, saying the Institute has professionals who are involved in all sectors, and it is important that ICSAN as an institute plays leading roles in nation-building and strengthens governance practice from various sectors.
