The Christian Association of Nigeria, has commended the FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc for taking responsibility and issuing a public apology following his controversial Good Friday social media advertorial for Peak Milk.
The Group described the advertisement as “insensitive, offensive, and totally unacceptable.”
It complained about how the photograph of a dented tin of Peak Milk, punctured in two places, with a nail dripping milk, lying beside it.
It was captioned: Bruised and Pierced for us. #GoodFriday.
CAN had said it was considering serious sanctions against the firm, including a boycott of their products by Christians.
But, the Executive Director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc (Corporate Affairs), Ore Famurewa, expressed remorse in a letter to the President of CAN.
Reacting, CAN, in a statement signed by General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, said it had accepted the apology of the company, urging other organisations to take caution when placing advertisements.
