The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba, has presented cheques worth twenty million, nine hundred and fourteen thousand, four hundred and seventy-three naira, forty-four kobo to eight families of deceased police officers who have died in active service.

Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dabban, who presented the cheques, said the IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme” is an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police, aimed at bringing succour to families of deceased Police Officers who died while in active service of their fatherland.

According to him, the aim is not only to bring succour to families of the deceased officers but also to boost the morale of serving officers and men of the Force.

Dabban while presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries urged them to judiciously use the token to solve their immediate family needs, especially on feeding and education of the children of the fallen heroes.

He also thanked the Inspector-General of Police for his magnanimity in giving out the incentives to the families of the deceased police officers.

In their response, the families of the deceased Police Officers expressed their happiness and appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the kind gesture and prayed for Almighty Allah to protect all serving officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
