Ejiro Otarigho, who did the impossible to save lives in Agbaroh, Ughelli North area of Delta State; and 17 Eminent Nigerians have been honoured at the award presentation event of the Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards 2022.

The award ceremony, chaired by the Founder, Odita Sunday-Udemaguna, was themed“ Break The Barrier, Dream Again.

Nigeria silent Heroes Awards gave a star award to Otarigho who on June 11th, 2022 heroically risked his life to drive a burning petrol tanker for 25 minutes from a densely populated residential area to Agbarho River where the tanker was completely razed by the inferno.

While presenting Ejiro Otarigho to dignitaries at the award ceremony, the founder of the award Odita Sunday-Udemaguna said by Ejiro’s action, he had saved a lot of Delta people who could have died from that accident. ‘It is not everyone that will have the courage to do what you just did’.

Otarigho receiving the star award thanked the organisers of the event, ” This is another recognition and I am happy to receive this. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers also commended me and gave me an honour. I was named an ambassador of NUPENG. I am the first to be given such an honour in this country. Many other groups have been calling and giving me commendations and I cannot but be thankful. Thank you so much.”

SpyeTV Olayemi Esan, who is also a Defence Correspondent, was honoured with the Nigeria silent Heroes Awards as Silent Hero in Journalism (New Media), for Long Nose for news, Passion for developmental Journalism, and Prolific Defence Correspondent’.
She was being recognised for her noteworthy contribution to the development of the Nigerian New media and Defence, Security and Crime reportage.


The 4th Edition NSHA Awardees are: Governor Yahaya Bello, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, IGP Baba Usman, Kennedy Uzoka, Kashifu I. Abdullahi, HRM Oba Dr Amb Joshua Olawale Aminu, Dr Favour Ugwuanyi, Dr Shade Olukoya, Anna Dickson Ishaku, Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed, Olayemi Esan, and Owen Omogiafo.


Others are; Comrade Dr Nuhu Solomon Anyegwu, Dr Bone Efoziem Chinye, Dr Ishaq Hadejia, Hon Barr Pius Ukeyima Akutah, Dr Ross Oluyede, Laurence Izegbu, Barr Yinka Sanni, Comrade Amb Ejiro Wisdom Otarigho, And Hamzat Lawal.


Earlier delivering her opening speech, the project director, Sonia Odita Sunday-Udemaguna said, the Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards is anchored on a process of identification, recognition and celebration of those whose life activities have positively impacted humanity within or outside their own immediate environment.

She said the awardees were carefully nominated among millions of others in view of the outstanding contributions they have made silently over the years in their various spheres to add value to humanity.
According to her, in furtherance of the initiative, the organisers will like to disclose intention to institute the Africa Heroes Awards in the nearest future with a view to celebrating unsung achievers within the continent of Africa.
The Project Director therefore thanked the management of United Bank for Africa, Zenith Bank, Osadebe Osakwe of North China Construction Ltd and others for their encouragement and support.
The Volume 4 of Silent Hero Magazine was also launched by Awardees, invited dignitaries.
Nigeria silent Heroes Awards (NSHA), is a non government organisation that recognises humanity with an award that expresses gratitude of the society for their kindness towards fellow individuals, families, community and environment and their silent heroic service to country.
The 4th Edition of NIGERIA SILENT HEROES AWARDS is an annual event organized by individuals with reputation in Nigeria’s media sector to honour and celebrate personalities and institutions who have dedicated substantal part of their financial resources, intellectual/technical expertise, in adding value to humanity in various spheres of life over the years.
Dignitaries at the award ceremony were, two 5-star Generals, Minority Leader of Nigeria’s House of Reps, Representative of the IGP, two DG’s of parastatals, One Perm Sec, captains of industry, SSA to Governor and more.
