Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, has confirmed the collapse of a twenty-one-storey building under construction at Ikoyi.

Its Director General, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the emergency response plan had been activated and first responders deployed to secure the scene.

According to him, the heavy-duty equipment and life detection equipment have also been dispatched.

Men of the Federal, State Fire Services and Rescue Teams and LASEMA, are currently at the scene of the incident to salvage the lives of those trapped.

The building, located at twenty, Gerrard Road, collapsed around three this afternoon.
