Calls for sustained partnership and support towards maintenance of peace, security.

In continuation of his commitment to engage critical security stakeholders to sustain peace and security in Enugu State, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Aliyu, has visited, familiarised and cross-fertilised ideas with the Executive Members of the State’s Traditional Rulers Council at the House of Chiefs, State House of Assembly Complex, Enugu.

The Commissioner, while thanking the Royal Fathers for the opportunity of the engagement, urges them to continue partnering and supporting the Police and keep playing the all-important role of being the custodians of security, peace and order in their communities.

He further enjoins them to key into the new Community Policing Model of the Nigeria Police Force, by supporting and cooperating with the Special Constables, who were recently trained by the Force and inaugurated by the State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; and have been deployed by the Police for the effective policing of their communities.
In his welcome remarks, Chairman of Council, Igwe (Amb.) Lawrence Agubuzo, thanked the CP for the visit and assured the commitment of the Traditional Rulers to continue working with the Police towards ensuring that Enugu State remains one of the safest in the country.
The CP was accompanied on the tour by DCP Ahmed Garba in-charge of Operations; ACP Fidelis Ogarabe, Assistant Commissioner State CID; ACP Dauda Ayuba, Commander 3-PMF Enugu; SP Obienimi Cookey, Second-in-Command SPU, Enugu; among others.
