The Federal Government should adopt local solutions, knowledge and human based resources to address the problems of economic deficit, insecurity, poor infrastructure and other concerns affecting the socioeconomic growth of the nation.
According to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, his administration had taken into cognisance the future of the present generation and has prioritise knowledge as a means to drive the economy rather than a resource based economy to help the youths excel in governance.
He stated this in Abuja when he received some representatives of Nollywood who came to pledge support to him and urge him to run for the office of the President in the next General Election.
The Governor commended the Nollywood Stars for their efficient roles in the creative industry which has contributed to increasing the nation’s Gross Domestic Product GDP, Employment, Youth Empowerment and showcasing the country’s cultural heritage to the world.
Earlier, Leader of the Nollywood delegation, Seun Oloketuyi appreciated Governor Bello for his efforts on youth inclusion in governance.
He stated that it was what the country needed at the moment and pledged the support of Nollywood if the Kogi state Governor decides to vie for the seat of the President in 2023.
Director-General, Best of Nollywood, Dr. Segun Okeowo presented a notification of interest to Governor Bello, seeking the State to host the thirteenth Edition of Nollywood Awards in November this year.
