Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello says his administration will continue to follow due process incompliance with the rule of law in the selection of traditional rulers in the state.

He stated this at Ugwolawo during the Coronation of a first class chief his Royal Highness Alhaji Akwu Obaje the new Eje Ofu in ofu local government area of the state.

Governor Bello spoke through his Senior Special Adviser on Local Government and Chiftaincy Affairs, Patrick Onogu while Congratulating Alhaji Akwu Obaje on his well deserved selection as the new Eje Ofu.

He said, the role of Traditional Institutions cannot be overlooked due to its significant role in ensuring peace, unity and good governance.

Governor Bello used the occasion to appeal to Traditional Rulers to compliment Governent efforts in ensuring adequate security of Lives and Property for citizens.

In a goodwill message, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero urged the new Eje Ofu to rule his subjects with justice and the fear of God.

He spoke through the Zanann Kano, Alhaji Aminu Sadiq.

In separate remarks, the Ohimege Igu of Koton Karfi, Alhaji Isah Koto, the Chairman, Igala Traditional Area Council and Eje Dekina, Alhjai Usman Obaje, and the Senator representing Kogi-East, Alhaji Jibrin Echocho urged the Monach to promote peaceful coexistence among all tribes in his domain.

In his acceptance Speech, the Eje Ofu, Alhaji Akwu Obaje promised to work with relevant Authorities to ensure good welfare for his subjects and called for support and understanding by people of Kogi state in the discharge of his duties.

Prayers were offered for the Monarch by An Islamic Cleric Sheikh Abubakar Sediq Shuaib and with Cultural displays to the guests witnessed the Coronation.

The Traditional Ruler is to be presented the Staff of office on a later date by the Kogi State Governor.
