Lagos State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, has bursted another major illicit drug syndicate at Oyingbo area of the State and arrested arrested a member of the syndicate.

The command also seized over half a ton of five hundred and sixty-three point one-five kilogram of cannabis sativa after a prolong surveillance.

According to the command, the suspect Emeka Ani, from Nkanu North Local Government Area of Enugu State is the kingpin of the syndicate that operates between Ofosu in Edo and Lagos State.

Its Deputy Commander, Obaniyi Adeoye says investigation into the case is ongoing, while other syndicate members currently on the run will soon be identified, arrested and also face the full wrath of the law.

He noted that the seizure was made just a few weeks after over five tons of another same cannabis sativa was seized in Ayobo area by the Command.

According to him, this is in furtherance of the avowed determination to curtail the spate of illict drug activities in Lagos State.

He appreciate and thanks the good people of Lagos State, the Lagos State Government, Sister Security Agencies and the Media Organisations for their continuous support and encouragement.

The Deputy Commander assured Lagosians that NDLEA Lagos State Command will leave no stone unturned in our resolve to reduce the challenges of illicit drug abuse and trafficking in the State to the barest minimum.

He solicited for the supply of credible information about those merchants of death by patriotic Lagosians so that we can all together get rid of them from our mids.
