Katsina State Police Command in its determination and total commitment towards free, fair, credible and peaceful State House of Assembly Bye election coming up at Bakori LGA of the state.
The command inform the public that, after due consultation with relevant stakeholders superintending and overseeing the forthcoming Election, the following restriction orders are hereby made:
a. That there will be total restriction of movement of persons and vehicles from 12 midnight of Friday, 04/12/2020 – 6:00pm of Saturday, 5th December, 2020.
b. Politicians and Very Important Personalities (V.I.Ps) are barred from going to any voting center with their security details and orderlies. Also they are warned to desist from moving from one place to another on that day as stipulated by the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).
c. All entry and exit points into Bakori LGA are going to be manned and blocked by security personnel. No movement will be allowed until the elections are over.
d. The Police and other security personnel will be conducting robust and purposeful patrols to ensure compliance with this order and towards a hitch free exercise.
f. The Command has made adequate arrangement to provide security for all voters to come out en mass and cast their votes without any fear of harassment or molestation.
g. Deployment of policemen and other sister security agencies to man the polling units have also been concluded.
g. We are calling on all good citizens of Bakori to partner with the police and other security agencies to make the elections a success.
The Command also warned that any person or group of persons, who may contemplate undermining the electoral process, will be tackled decisively.
Parents are hereby called upon to warn their wards to dissuade from any contemplated illegality, as the full wrath of the law will descend on anybody caught in any infractions targeted at undermining any of the electoral laws and any other law of the land for that matter.
e. In this regard, the Commissioner of Police Katsina state Command, CP Sanusi Buba, psc, wishes the good people of Bakori LGA, a peaceful and successful conduct of State House Assembly Bye Election, please.
ARREST OF NOTORIOUS INFORMERS TO BANDITS AT DUTSINMA LGA:
On 12/11/2020 at about 14:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Bilyaminu Ma’aruf, ‘M’, aged 35yrs of Kadangaru Quarters, and Sani Umaru, ‘M’, aged 40yrs of Gammo village, of Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state, notorious informers to bandits in the forest.
In the course of investigation, suspects confessed to have masterminded the kidnappings of so many residents of Dutsinma area including that of one Amina Usman, ‘F’, aged 20yrs of Dutsinma in which the sum of Nine Hundred Thousand Naira was paid to the kidnappers as a ransom and the sum of twenty thousand naira was given to them as their share of the crime.
Furthermore, they also confessed to have provided information to bandits that led to the kidnapping of one Amina Shu’aibu, ‘F’, aged 22yrs of the same address, who later escaped from the hands of the bandits and several other similar kidnappings incidents in the area.
Investigation is ongoing.
RECOVERY OF ONE HUNDRED AND TWO (102) GOATS, EIGHT (8) SHEEP, AND TWO (2) COWS: Today 4/12/2020 at about 01:10hrs, Area Commander, Dutsinma, led a team of Policemen and blocked Tsaskiya cattle route, Safana LGA of Katsina state, based on the report that bandits in their numbers, armed with AK 47 rifles have attacked Tamo village, Kurfi LGA and rustled domestic animals.
Fortunately, the hoodlums followed through the route and the police team engaged them into a serious gun duel.
The team succeeded in dislodging the bandits and recovered one hundred and two (102) goats, eight (8) sheep and two (2) cows stolen from the village by the bandits.
Search parties are still combing the area with a view to arrest the bandits and/or recover their dead bodies.
