Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Police Command, Salami Bolaji says, his mission in Ondo State comes first above any kind of distractions.

Reacting to a purported rumour of a withdrawal of Policemen from the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, by the Command, Bolaji said this is never so.

For the avoidance of doubt, His Excellency, Hon Agboola Ajayi has eight (8) police officers, comprising two Inspectors, six Sergeants namely:

  1. A/P NO. 149306 Insp Akinmusire Clement
  2. A/P NO. 237494 Insp Kabiru Olaniyan
  3. F/NO. 391861 Sgt Tolyin Alabi
  4. F/NO. 394962 Sgt Akinlami Francis
  5. F/NO. 440539 Sgt Dogi Peremobowe
  6. F/NO.445795 Sgt Asogbon Joshua
  7. F/NO 390321 Sgt Ojo Owolabi
  8. F/NO 447515 Sgt Ojo Ifesanmi, officially approved for him from the Force Headquarters, Abuja and an additional two, permanently on shift duty-basis from the Command to his home in Kiribi, Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Ondo State.

There is therefore no way that I as the Commissioner of police, Ondo Police Command can withdraw any officer from the security details of the Deputy Governor of the State.

The posting of the officers is entirely the prerogative of the Inspector-General of Police,
However, let it be known that there are some other police officers from the Command attached to the Ondo State Government house for guard duties, who are answerable to the Chief Security Officer to the Governor.

The CSO can post and withdraw those officers from the Command on guard duties according to the reason and purpose that suit him.

He said those pruning this rumour against him should know that he is in the State to serve every one and would therefore not do anything that may be inimical to the safety of lives and property of any one.

Bolaji therefore enjoins the good people to save his person and the Command from this orchestrated rumour, while promising the people that the Command will always provide adequate and purposeful policing to all at all times.
