On 13/03/2020 at about 1400hours, following a sustained monitoring detectives from Ikorodu Police Station arrested two serial burglars namely, Julius Peter ‘m’ 32years old of Akin Ogunlewe Igbogbo, Ikorodu and Paul Ozurumba ‘m’ 35years old of Block 3 Flat 7 Fashola Estate Bayeku Igbogbo Ikorodu.
The suspects were arrested following series of shop breaking and stealing complaints received from shop owners. One of such cases was reported on 13/03/2020 at about 09150hrs by one Olamide Assau ‘m’ and Liasu Elizabeth ‘f’ all of No 57 Ashafa Road off Organelle road Igbogbo Ikorodu.
Items recovered from the suspects include a large quantity of electrical fence wires, clothes, shoes, bags, native ankara, laptops among others.
Also recovered from the suspects are shop breaking implements.
The suspects have confessed to the commission of the crimes. Investigation is ongoing, the suspects will be charged to Court.
Seven persons suspected to be illegal immigrants and drug traffickers are in Police custody.
On 14/3/2020 at about 1030hrs operative from Oke Odo Police Station on routine patrol along Lagos/Abeokuta expressway intercepted seven young men at Super Bus stop, Abule-egba, Lagos.
Upon questioning, they claimed that one Okechukwu ‘m’ who resides in Ghana collected money from them and promised to take them to Libya but brought them to Nigeria and abandon them at super bus stop.
Three Ghanian international passports and some capsule suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered from them.
Investigation is ongoing.
Fake soldier arrested for attempted murder.
On 14/03/2020 at about 1350hours, operatives from Bariga Police Station arrested one Azeez Ali ‘m’ 40years old of No. 5 Morgan way Igando Ikotun road, Lagos.
The suspect was arrested at a pin down point along Berger Bus stop, IBB way Bariga.
The suspect who impersonated a Naval Officer, is alleged to have used a military Jack knife to cut the penis of one Sunday Amoo ‘m’ 42years old of No. 27 Community Street, Oworoshoki, over a mere argument, resulting in multiple deep cuts.
The victim was taken to Lagos Teaching Hospital and responding to treatment. Investigation is ongoing.
The suspect will be charged to Court.
Arrest of a notorious cultist.
On 12/3/2020 at about 1600hrs, acting on credible intelligence operatives from Ikorodu Division with the support of community policing volunteers arrested one Segun Ariyo a.k.a. Sangalo ‘m’ 27years old.
The suspect is a vicious and notorious member of Aiye confraternity, who has been on Police wanted list for serial killings of rival cult members.
His gang is responsible for series of armed robbery incidents within ikorodu and its environs. Investigation is ongoing, the suspect will be charged to Court.
- Man arrested for defiling a teenager.
On 13/03/2020 at about 1600hrs one (name withheld) of power line Itamaga Ikorodu reported at Ikorodu Police Station that her 15 years old daughter (name withheld) was defiled by one Oyesanwo Sola ‘m’ 28years old of grammar school area ikorodu.
The incident happened in the suspect’s shop along Ota Ona Itamaga road.
The suspect is alleged to have inserted his fingers into the vagina of the victim.
The survivor was taken to hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination.
The suspect is arrested and he confessed to the commission of the crime.
Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu ordered the immediate transfer of all the cases to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
Odumosu maintained that the ongoing onslaught on criminal elements in Lagos State will be sustained.
