Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, has rescued two out of the three occupants in a Nissan Pathfinder Jeep involved in an accident that occurred on Saturday night at the 7UP/Toll Gate axis of the State.

According to the Agency’s Director-General, Dr. Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, preliminary investigations conducted by LASEMA revealed that the accident was due to loss of control of the vehicle by the driver while on top speed.

In his words: “An eye witness stated that the Pathfinder arrived the intersection of the 7up bus stop/inward Ojota, under the Motorways footbridge at top speed when the driver lost control and the said vehicle tumbled and plunged into a ditch under the pedestrian bridge”.

Oke-Osanyintolu noted that the prompt response and arrival of the LASEMA team at the scene of the accident ensured that two male occupants of the vehicle with registration number KJA-729FQ, were rescued with injuries but the driver, unfortunately, lost his life.

While noting that the rescued occupants were immediately treated before being transferred via Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) to the Trauma Center, he said the corpse of the yet to be identified driver was bagged by the LASEMA Response Team and handed over to Officers of the Nigeria Police from Ketu Police Station for further investigations.
