Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, has deployed 1,400 officials to various locations in the state to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Easter festivities.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Chris Olakpe, said the officials had been trained and tutored on how to manage traffic in the state.

Olakpe, also advised motorists to drive to stay alive by avoiding drunk driving, over-loading, reckless driving and driving against traffic.

“Drive to stay alive is our message to motorists during this Easter period.

“We want them to shun all the insanity and attitude that can affect free flow of traffic at this Easter period.

“Any driver arrested for serious offence at this period must know that his or her vehicle will spend Easter in our yards.

“That is why motorists must drive carefully and obey rules and regulations to avoid being arrested by our able officials.

“Any vehicle arrested for reckless driving, driving against traffic and other offences will not be released until after the festivities,” he added.
