The issue of security and safety of lives and property of Lagosians is non-negotiable as it is the foundation for development, progress and prosperity.
According to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, his administration will not relent on rendering all required support to all the security agencies especially Lagos State Police Command.
Ambode, spoke through Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Oluseye Oladejo, at the formal commissioning of Odo-Noforija Police Station in Noforija, Eredo Local Council Development Area, Epe.
He assured that the sense of safety and security which the presence of the new Police Station would engender would bring significant improvement in the socio-economic life of the people of Noforija and its adjoining communities.
Ambode urged residents, investors and other stakeholders to continue to support all security agencies by providing them with quality and timely information that will enhance the provision of security and protection of lives and property of all, especially as the festive season approaches.
In his remarks, the Chairman Eredo Local Council Development Area, Adeniyi Salau commended the State Government for its efforts in securing the entire State as the security of lives and property is very important for the overall development of any society.
He said the present administration had prioritised the issue of security which has led to the procurement of security gadgets, equipment and facilities necessary for combating crimes in the State ranging from helicopters, cars, motorcycles and speedboats amongst others.
Also speaking during the occasion, Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal who spoke through his Deputy, Operations, Mohammed Ari thanked the government for donating the building with a promise that the command would ensure adequate security in the area and Lagos State in general.
His Royal Highness, Aladeshonyin of Odo Noforija, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, appreciated Governor Ambode for coming to their aide by safeguarding their community with the establishment of the police station.
He assured the government of their continued support and cooperation.
The commissioning ceremony was witnessed by traditional rulers in the Area, top Politicians, community leaders and Senior Police Officers in the State.
