Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has inaugurated new officers’ quarters at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Bauchi.
Abubakar, who spoke through Chief of Administration, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar, at the inauguration, said the project would enhance the welfare of air personnel.
He said today’s occasion was a fulfilment of the key driver of promoting and inculcating the core values of integrity, excellence and service delivery of his vision.
According to him, the projects are geared toward enhancing the welfare of the personnel to enable them focus on their tasks and contribute in adding values to the service, congratulating the personnel who will benefit from the new housing units and enjoin them to make the best use of the facilities and ensure they are properly maintained.
Abubakar urged all air personnel to conduct themselves well in line with the laws of the land while discharging their duties, urging them to continue to conduct theirselves in line with the laws of the land in the discharge of their duties.
He also acknowledge that the great achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.
He expressed deep gratitude to the Federal Government for the support and promise to sustain their efforts toward enhancing nation building.
Also speaking, the Commander, 251 Base Services, Group Captain Nazif Aliyu, said the projects would go a long way in reducing the burden of accommodation.
“Let me clearly state that the newly-completed projects will immensely reduce the burden of accommodation on the base.
“This and other numerous achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication, wisdom and support of the Chief of the Air Staff. We therefore, appreciate you sir,’’ Aliyu said.
The project which is two blocks of 6×1 Single Officers’ Quarters is part of on-going efforts of the NAF’s leadership to address accommodation challenge of its personnel.
