Eight suspected kidnappers and ritualists arrested by the Kwara State Police Command have been paraded in Ilorin.
Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, who paraded the suspects, said they would be arraigned in court soon.
Moshood, an Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police said the Inspector General of Police had sent a special team of the IGP Monitoring Unit to the state to assist the Kwara Police Command in their investigation of the matter.
He said intelligence gathering from the public led to the search of the home of one of the suspects in the state capital, revealed that Azeez Yakub a.k.a Baba Muri, Principal Suspect, who was a notorious armed robber and had been arrested, charged to court and convicted to prison severally.
Moshood, said the suspect, now in police custody, had made a confessional statement to the Police investigation Team, saying he confessed and admitted that one Abdulfatai Kadri a.k.a, Adedoyin, the vigilante commander in Adeta Zone, introduced him to the business and also supplies the human skulls and other body parts for him to sell.
According to him, eleven human skulls were recovered from his possession during police search on his residence.
Moshood said the police were still investigating and intensifying efforts to arrest other suspects, including prominent personalities mentioned by the suspects but still at large.
He reiterated that all the suspects would be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.
Speaking to newsmen, Yakubu said Kadri had brought twenty human skulls that he exhumed from the Ilorin community central cemetery.
He said he usually bring them in batches of four, six, and eight for safe keeping and collects them within a day or two, saying Kadri also informed him of personalities in Ilorin and other parts of the state that he supplies the parts to.
