Over two hundred and fifty students’ representatives from various schools in the Lagos State Education District two, Ikorodu and its environs have been urged to eschew all kinds of crime peculiar to secondary school pupils.

According to Commander, Rapid Response Squad, RRS, Olatunji Disu, some of the crime include; Hard drug, Cultism, Pickpocketing, Traffic Robbery, Stealing, Cyber Crime, Robbery, Homicide, Prostitution, Sodomy, Homosexualism/Lesbianism among others.

Disu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police who spoke on the sub – themes of the seminar, Crime, Your Choices and Your Future, said opting for crime would lead to Dropping out of School, death resulting from hard drug or cult violence or jungle justice, Teenage Pregnancy, Drug Addiction and Abuse, Juvenile conviction and incarceration, among others.

He advised them to adopt the listed measures in order to be successful in life including Stay Off Peer Group or Agemate pressure, Engage in decent social activities like Boys Scouts, Girls Guide, religious activities, sports activities, Study hard and listen to your teachers as well as your parents, guidance and religious instructors.

According to him, Avoid Nocturnal movement particularly with wayward friends, Avoid taking Drug that are not Prescribed for you or given to you by you parents, Avoid Joining Street gang or Cult Group, Ladies should avoid embarking on journeys their parents do not approve of. You might likely be trafficked into prostitution, Male and Female should avoid opportunities that look too attractive. These are the ploys employed by criminals to get their victims.
