During a deadly clash involving two rival cult groups at at Modupe Street, off Kazeem Street in Alapere area of Ketu in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, an unidentified man was today killed.
A resident of the area who pleaded not to be identified claimed to have witnessed the fight, said the cultists came from a nearby street, describing the area as a hotbed of cult activities.
According to the resident, who named the rival cults as members of Eiye and Aye confraternity, said the Alapere cult war had been on for more than three years, resulting into deaths.
He said Kazeem, Aminu and Akampson Streets near the transformer at Alapere were notorious for cult activities.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti who confirmed the development, said the dead man was stabbed to death.
Oti a Chief Superintendent of Police said the identity of the dead man was not yet known saying the body had been removed by policemen from the Alapere Division and deposited at a mortuary.
He said no arrest had been made so far.
