Lagos State Ministry of Justice, has congratulated a Chief State Counsel, Yetunde Ajayi on her nomination as a participant at the International Visitor Leadership Programme scheduled to hold from July 30th to August 17th 2018, sponsored by the Public Affairs Section of the United States Consulate General in Nigeria and organized by the US Department of State in Washington, D.C.

Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary, Funlola Odunlami expressed the appreciation of the Ministry for the gesture of the United States Consulate General in recognising and rewarding the exemplary performance and productivity of a Law Officer in the ministry.

According to her “Lagos Ministry of Justice arguably the largest law office in Nigeria has a robust pool of legal experts and very efficient and pragmatic team of Law Officers, among which, Ajayi, who through dint of hard work and unusual commitment to duty has continued to promote the ideals and a culture of excellence for which the ministry is known for”.

In her words “the exemplary work ethics of the nominated Counsel is not only in consonance with the letters of our Mission Statement, but also a testimony of the prevailing conducive work environment in the Ministry promoted by the Lagos State Government through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem.

Yetunde Ajayi, a Chief State Counsel, was called to the Nigerian bar in year 2000 and joined the Ministry as a State Counsel in 2004. In the almost two decades of her employment she had served in the Directorate of Public Prosecutions and the Office of the Public Defender, where she headed the training committee that successfully organized in 2016, the first International Training for Staff of the OPD in collaboration with the National Institute For Trial Advocacy (NITA) Boulder, Colorado and Lawyers Without Borders
