Men and officers of the Lagos State Police Command have been deployment to join in the efforts to ensure free-flow of traffic across the metropolis, before, during and after the festive period.
The deployment became imperative as in the past few days, traffic situation had worsened in some areas due to increase in social activities owing to the yuletide season, as well as construction works being carried out by the government.
According to Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, this became imperative due to the upbeat in social activities in and around the state which had resulted to a corresponding increase in vehicular traffic.
Imohimi said he had already directed that immediate steps be taken to ameliorate the situation to ensure seamless connectivity across the State.
He directed the State Traffic Officer Superintendent of Police Margaret Okonkwo to collaborate with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to achieve the objective.
The Commissioner also assured residents of security of lives and property, just as he urged the people to feel free to report any suspicious activities around them to law enforcement agents.
