Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi Muhammadu says his administration will not relent in its drive to ensure that staff are adequately taken care of.

Muhammadu made this declaration while commissioning 2 coaster buses at the National Headquarters, Sauka Abuja, saying the release of the buses was in fulfilment of his promise to take the welfare of his staff very seriously.

He said his staff have been facing very serious transportation challenges since the relocation of the Corps Headquarters to Sauka along the airport road, saying the buses would cover designated routes within Abuja and environs.

The Commandant General further assured that more buses would be procured and release very soon to ease transportation of personnel, saying the gesture would not be for the National Headquarters alone but assured all States and Zonal Commands, that once funds are made available the states will get theirs.

In the same vein, the Commandant General equally signed an MOU with a property development company, Wesamji International Consult, a German Company to provide the first phase of 5000 staff housing estate in Abuja.

Muhammadu congratulated and appreciated his personnel for their good conducts during the Anambra elections and thank God for the overall success of the polls and safe return of his personnel to their respective Commands.

He charged them to continually exhibit the highest form of discipline wherever they find themselves.

On the issue of delay in salary payment, Muhammadu called on personnel for more patience and to disregard any insinuations of financial mismanagement in some quarters, saying his administration was committed to financial transparency and measures are being put in place to stamp out corruption in the system.
