The present administration has reaffirmed the determination to protect all lives and property of Nigerians.

The administration said its will should not be tested, as to its capability to deploy security agencies to deal with any individual or group that may threaten the corporate existence of the nation, as well as the peaceful co-existence of the people.

It urged all Nigerians to shun hate speeches and divisive tendencies and join hands with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to build a peaceful, strong and united Nigeria.

Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau who made this known while declaring Monday, and Tuesday as Public Holiday to mark Id-El Fitr Celebration, enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to use the occasion for sober reflection and pray for peace, unity and progress of the nation in its march to nationhood.

The Minister further assures Nigerians of the government’s resolve to be just and fair to all.

Meanwhile, Muslim Ummah in the country should look for the new Moon of Shawwal on Saturday.

They should also report its sighting to the nearest District of Village Head, for onward communication to the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar.

Abubakar who spoke through Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Sambo Wali; urged the Muslim Ummah to report the sighting of the new moon to the sultanate council.
