The CDS explained said in order to discharge its mandate of protecting the nation’s integrity, the military had made training and retraining of personnel a cardinal principle.

“With training and retraining of personnel, there is the tendency that the military will be able to carry out its professional duties effectively against all odds.

“We emphasise skill acquisition for personnel also aimed at enhancing their performance to carry out their respective duties perfectly,’’ he said.

Olonisakin commended the military for their efforts so far in tackling insurgency in the North-East and militancy springing up in the Niger Delta Region and other parts of the country.

He urged the participants to take advantage of the lessons they would learn from the lecture by becoming more professional in the way they conducted their professional assignments.

The Commandant of the college, Rear Adm. Ilesanmi Alade, also urged the participants to make the best use of the lessons they would learn from the lecture.

Alade commended the CDS for his efforts at ensuring that the participants were fully equipped intellectually and professionally.
