Nigeria Immigration Service, says it will establish a Regional Academy for Immigration Management in Kebbi.
Its Controller-General, Muhammad Babandede, said the land and property belonging to the Service that was provided by Julius Berger Construction firm will be utilised for the project.
He said the service had contacted members of the international community over the proposed center and that they had indicated interest in the project.
The controller-general expressed hope that the project would be beneficial to Kebbi, especially as it would have airstrip and marine patrol for its closeness to the river.
Governor Bagudu commended the Immigration for its decision to establish the academy in the state.
He said fostering mutual relationships between countries concerned would assist in strengthening peace and security in the sub-region.
