Niger Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday announced the deployment of its armed plain-clothed security personnel on foot patrols in areas notorious for cattle rustling in the state.

State Commandant, Philip Ayuba, said the measure would help in arresting rustlers,kidnappers and other criminals, saying already officers concerned had been briefed on security methods to be adopted in apprehending the criminals.

The commandant also disclosed that plain-clothed security personnel had been deployed in all the major cattle markets across the state.
