Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, has commended officers and men for their sacrifices in containing the activities of insurgents nationwide.

Olonisakin who spoke on Friday in Jos, however said they still have to make more sacrifices,

Olonisakin was in Jos for a one-day operational visit to the headquarters of the “Operation Safe Haven (OPSH)” that had been charged with securing Plateau.

The Chief of Defence Staff commended officers and men of OPSH for the sacrifices, adding that they still needed to do more.

He told the OPSH personnel that it was their responsibility to ensure peace in Plateau and that they must work very hard in their various beats to achieve it.

According to the defence chief, the military is winning war against insurgency in north eastern Nigeria.

He, however, charged operatives to remain resolute in the fight, saying the Boko Haram has been degraded in capacity, adding that they were only managing to carry out some few suicide bombings.

The Chief of Defence Staff said the Defence Headquarters was doing all it could to cater for the needs of the troops.
