More synergy is needed among other security agencies for effective prohibition of drug abuse among the youths in the country.
Also, urgent steps must be taken to reduce crime rate among the youths, as sixty to seventy per cent of crimes committed daily in the country are linked to the effects of illicit drugs.
Commander, Ogun State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,NDLEA, Bala Fagae said while taking delivery of seventy parcels of substance suspected to be Indian hemp from the state command of the Nigeria Customs command.
Fagae said the substance was meticulously and neatly packed in envelops, valued at over two million naira.
According to the state commander of the Nigeria Customs, the Indian hemp was intercepted along the Idi Iroko border post of the state.
