Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps,NSCDC, has mobilised 300 of its personnel for peaceful Independence day celebration in the state.

The command would also deploy 10 well-armed patrol vehicles to monitor the festivities against any security threat.

Commandant of the Corps, Aliyu Babangida, the command would do everything humanly possible to sustain the peaceful nature the seat of Caliphate was known for, through well-coordinated security measures.

Babangida said the command had deployed plain cloth security personnel to public buildings; recreation centres and motor parks for the build-up effort toward security situation in the state.

He urged the people in the state to furnish the command with useful information that could lead to the arrest of criminals in the area.
