Assistant Inspector-General of Police in-charge of Zone 9, Hassan Karma, has urged the officers in the zone to shun all forms of corrupt practices.
Speaking at the presentation of the Zone 9 Police Community Relations Committee transit camp and investiture ceremony, Karma charged them to embrace efficient and credible policing, saying the officers had the responsibility to justify the Federal Government’s efforts to improve policing by delivering efficient performance.
He said the police were poised to ensure the safety of lives and property. Security is everyone’s business and the cooperation of the state governments and the public is required.
In his remark, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia commended the police for their efforts in the maintenance of peace and stability in Abia, saying government would continue to assist the police to rid the state of crime in recognition of the importance of safety in socioeconomic development.
Earlier, Chairman of committee, Ugochukwu Obi, commended the police for their high sense of professionalism and commitment to their duties, saying the committee would not relent in giving support and rendering welfare services for the wellbeing of all officers in the zone.
