Police Service Commission, has approved the promotion and posting of eighteen Commissioners of Police to Assistant Inspectors General.

It also approved their postings with four other current Assistant Inspectors General.

Twelve out of the twenty-two Assistant Inspectors General are to man the twelve Police Zonal Commands while the remaining ten will head Police special formations such as operations, training, police academy, Info-tech, investment, maritime and others.

The Commission also approved the appointment of thirty-seven Commissioners of Police and promotion of nine Deputy Commissioners of Police, while sixteen out of the thirty-seven Commissioners of Police will retain their Commands.

Its Chairman, Mike Okiro, said their promotions and postings were in line with the Commission’s resolve to reposition the Nigeria Police for better performance, cautioning them to hold their positions with the fear of God and fairness to all parties.
